Cheryl Teo (b.1988) is a visual artist and trained photographer that works extensively with craft based art and design. She graduated with a degree in Photography & Digital Imaging from the School of Arts, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University in 2012.
Her passion for combining everyday materials and hand crafted techniques is evident in most of her work. She enjoys overlapping boundaries of different mediums to illustrate her ideas and concepts. With a keen eye in observation and through meticulous construction, she tells visual stories that seek to fascinate and stir our imagination. She has exhibited her works in locations such as Alliance Francaise de Singapour, The Substation and international photo festivals in China and Hong Kong.
Apart from her art practice, she has also been involved in community art projects since 2013. Some of these projects include pilot arts programmes and workshops for nursing homes and societies. These programmes introduce alternative avenues for art making and offer participants a new dimension of care.
